Countdown sessions stop at zero until you explicitly continue. Stopwatch sessions count upward. Pace uses pages read divided by included reading time, so paused time is excluded.

Pages read are divided by included reading hours. Add at least one page and a short amount of reading time to see a pace.
Does this keep running in the background?
