What this school-days calculator tells you
Count scheduled class days after a start date and through the final school date. You can choose any weekly school schedule, remove holidays and days off, and review weekday and monthly totals along with the next and final counted days.
How school days are counted
The start date is excluded. Every later date through the last school day is counted when its weekday is selected and it is not manually excluded. The final date is included when it meets those rules.
How to exclude holidays and days off
Enter each local holiday, teacher workday, break day, or other closure as YYYY-MM-DD. Separate entries with commas, semicolons, or new lines. Repeated dates are removed automatically, and valid dates outside the selected range are ignored.
School days versus calendar days
Calendar days are every day between the two selected dates. School days include only selected weekdays after exclusions. School-week equivalents divide the final count by the number of selected weekdays per week; they are a workload-style measure, not necessarily complete calendar weeks.
Worked example
From July 29 through August 31, 2026, with Monday through Friday selected, there are 23 scheduled school days. Excluding August 14 and August 17 leaves 21 school days: 2 in July and 19 in August. There are 33 calendar days, the next school day is July 30, and the final counted school day is August 31.

Are weekends excluded automatically?
Saturday and Sunday are excluded by default because they begin unselected. You can change the schedule.

Yes. Select Saturday, or any other weekdays used by the school schedule.
How do I remove school holidays and teacher workdays?
List their exact Gregorian dates in the holidays and days off field.
What happens if I enter the same holiday twice?
Duplicate entries are counted once only.
Are public holidays added automatically?
No. No external school-calendar or holiday database is used. Enter all relevant local dates manually.
