How the next scheduled payday is calculated

Weekly schedules repeat every 7 calendar days from a known payday. Every-two-weeks schedules repeat every 14 calendar days. Monthly schedules resolve one rule in each calendar month, while semi-monthly schedules resolve two rules and remove any duplicate date caused by short-month clamping.

If the selected As of date is itself scheduled, it is returned with zero days until payday and the following payday is shown separately.

Weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly, and monthly pay

Weekly means every 7 days. Biweekly means every 14 days. Semi-monthly means two positions within each calendar month. Monthly means one position per month. Biweekly and semi-monthly are not equivalent.

How shorter months are handled

For a numeric monthly rule, an unavailable day clamps to that month's final valid day. Day 31 becomes February 28 in 2026, February 29 in leap year 2024, and April 30 in April. “Last day of month” explicitly chooses the actual final calendar day.

If two different semi-monthly rules resolve to the same date in a short month, that date appears once. For example, Day 30 and Day 31 both resolve to February 28, 2026, but the schedule does not duplicate it.

Why might my actual deposit date be different?

The calculator can keep scheduled weekend dates or apply the selected earlier/later weekend planning adjustment. It never adjusts holidays. Employer payroll policies, bank processing, and early direct deposit can still change the actual deposit date.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate my next biweekly payday?

Enter any known payday and choose Every 2 weeks. The calculator advances through the schedule in exact 14-calendar-day intervals.

Is biweekly the same as twice a month?

No. Biweekly means every 14 days. Semi-monthly means two scheduled dates per calendar month.

What if today is my payday?

The selected date is returned as the next scheduled payday with zero days remaining, and the following payday is also displayed.

What if my monthly payday is the 31st?

If the month lacks Day 31, the calculator uses that month's final valid day.

Does the calculator move weekend paydays to Friday?

By default it keeps the scheduled date. The optional weekend section can move Saturday or Sunday dates to Friday, or to Monday, for planning only.

Does this calculator account for holidays?

No. Holiday adjustments vary by employer, bank, and country.
