This calculator follows the standard nationwide federal holiday calendar for general planning. It does not guarantee that a particular employer, bank, court, school, carrier, or government office will be open.
Legal versus observed holiday dates
Fixed-date holidays that fall Saturday are observed Friday; those that fall Sunday are observed Monday. Observed New Year’s Day can therefore occur on December 31 of the prior year. Choose legal dates when that is the convention you need.
Start and end inclusion
Count mode can include or exclude either endpoint. Add/subtract mode counts only valid Monday–Friday dates after the selected starting point unless you explicitly count the start date.
Important limitation
This calculator does not include state holidays, bank-specific closures, Inauguration Day, emergency closures, or one-time Executive Order holidays. Private employers, banks, courts, schools, carriers, and offices may use a different calendar.
